So here’s the HEALTHY ACRONYMS GIF COLLECTION to help improve the mental health culture inside corporations.
​These GIFS are meant to communicate our professional thoughts and/or personal needs to bosses, teams, and peers in the hope of a more balanced life. All is 100% inspired by personal experience, chats with co-workers, and basically what I've seen/lived during my 20 years of work with different advertising agencies/companies (nowhere in particular). If you can relate, use these GIFS at work and share your thoughts with others! 👊

NEED SOME SLEEP. Sometimes we literally have so much accumulated tiredness but we don’t say anything. We just hide it in order to keep things going on. We need to communicate this ASAP before it becomes chronic.

NEED TO GO EXERCISE. This is a very basic need for our body and our mind to stay healthy. Let’s do this as often as we can.

I LIKE TO BE CHALLENGED. Sometimes the problem is not that we are working a lot, but the opposite. If we are feeling that we can do more, let’s express it. We all have great potential and if we don’t use it right, it can lead to frustration.

WE ARE VERY UNDERSTAFFED. We tend to believe success means: “Not showing weaknesses”. When we’re understaffed we need to be brave to speak up and tell it how it is. If there’s not enough people, there’s not enough people and we just can’t juggle everything ourselves all the time. If you don’t speak up, in the long term it can become very toxic for everybody.

NEED SOME AIR. Being 8 to 10 hours a day just sitting at home is not very healthy for our body. Less to our mind. It’s good to get some air and we all should feel comfortable in doing so.

GONE BECAUSE OF FAMILY EMERGENCY. Sometimes we can’t explain too much but we need to leave work because of a family emergency. This GIF synthesizes that idea, fully supporting us to just: LEAVE!

WORKING OVERTIME VERY OFTEN. Once in a while we can offer our time to nail certain tasks that simply can’t be solved under 35/40 hrs of our week. The problem is when this becomes our everyday. We all have the right to say “I am already working overtime very often”. Speaking out these simple things will always be good for our own mental health.

SICK AT HOME. There’s nothing worse than feeling bad and feeling guilty at the same time because we can’t continue our work. This GIF is a reminder that we all have the right to feel sick. We don’t need to feel guilty at all. Just communicate you are SAH and that’s it.

TOO MANY UNNECESSARY MEETINGS. There are days that we really start working late in the afternoon because our agenda in the morning is packed with unnecessary meetings. We need to speak our minds and make sure our bosses get to know our POV about this.

NEED SOME FAMILY TIME. Sometimes we are so “in the zone” with things at work that we literally forget to spend quality time with our family. We all need to balance more our work and our personal life.

NEED TIME TO PROCESS. Just like we need time to think, we also need time to process the information we’re given. Again, we’re living in a very rushed world, but quality solutions are born out of time of proper analysis and reflection.

NEED SOME BREAKFAST FIRST. Sometimes we are so immerse in the “Wheel of Work” that we just start our day earlier than usual, without even having some fuel for the rest of the morning. We need to make ourselves some space for the essential.

BRAND NEW DAY. Once in a while, we all can have days where everything gets tough between ourselves and our boss, team or peers. We just need to remember: As long as we have a brand new day, there’s always a new chance to do it better. It’s good to have a BND GIF handy : )

RECOVERING FROM JET LAG. How many times we are back from a trip and we don’t really take the time to recover. We just simply start again in the new schedule. There’s nothing wrong in asking time to recover. It’s better to do it and come back fresh, well rested and in a great mood.

CAN WE TALK? Several years ago, our communication shifted 100% to work chats, e-mails or phone messages, and sometimes we forget that we’re still able to TALK! Things can get solved in 2 minutes in a simple phone call vs having eternal e-mail chains trying to figure things out that could be solved in a more simple way.

TAKE TIME TO READ CAREFULLY. How many times we’ve put a lot of effort in: writing, preparing a deck, structuring storytelling, so our peers or bosses can take a look. And how many times we’ve felt they didn’t have the time to read it properly leading us to frustration. We can use this GIF to remind them that this is important to us.

NEED TO HUG A TREE. When we are overwhelmed with too many e-mails, too many chats, too many video calls, too much technology…let’s just go and hug a tree. Nature connection is also very necessary.

BURNED OUT. Either we raised our flags in the past or not, sometimes we find ourselves just: Burned Out. It’s never too late to keep our minds healthy and express this feeling to our bosses and peers. There’s no point in suffering because of work. Time to shift to other project or something else.
